Two locals i know here have died in the past year from moto accidents and I witnessed another that left me shaking for at least an hour where a girl got up off the pavement with half her face still on the ground.
They are so easy, I totally get that. But without helmets they are a choose your own adventure story waiting for other drivers to pick your future: mangled (p 34), brain damaged (p 185), in $2 pharmacy, sighing relief (p probably not going to happen again).
Please be careful out there.

I learned early on to carry my own toilet paper.

Interestingly, I’ve begun to prefer squat toilets to western ones. They are usually cleaner in Vietnam, probably because everyone is accustomed to using them.
